Vanida Gail: Grand Opening Show, September 2004

Vanida Gail is a singer songwriter from Philadelphia. Her song writing has been called “intelligent and thought provoking”. - WMNF, Tampa, Florida 

Vanida’s work has been chosen as a possible theme song for the Leeza Gibbons Show (1998), featured on the popular Fox TV show Party of Five (1999), won San Francisco’s KFOG’s “So You Want to be a Recording Star Contest” and featured on the soundtrack to the Oxygen Cable Network documentary, “Motorcycle Diaries”(2000) as well as the theme song to “Women in Politics” documentary on Oxygen Network (2000). The product of the Philadelphia music scene, Vanida has traveled the country performing in various clubs, theaters, colleges and festivals and developed her unique sound.

Vanida’s musical journey began when she co-founded the band June Rich in 1995, named Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best Band”. The band went their separate ways in 2000 and since then Vanida has performed both solo and with musicians accompanying. Vanida is currently looking for the right producer. Vanida says, “ …someone who will know how to bridge the folk, soul and the pop.”
